3.11 Operator Management Setup
The operator management function helps to identify instrument users and restrict instrument use by assigning users an
operator ID. Up to 10 operator IDs can be registered.
3.11.1
Setting Up Operator Management
The operator management function has been disabled as a default. To use the operator management function, follow
the instructions below to enable it. It may be helpful to identify individual users if set up the function so that operator
IDs are printed on measurement result reports.
a On the standby screen, touch , <5. Initial settings menu>, <5. Operator mgmt. menu> and
<1. Management setup> in that order.
b Set the setup items.
c Touch .
• The message “Settings changed. Save setting changes?” will appear.
d Touch .
• This saves your entries and will return you to the [Operator mgmt. menu] screen.
e Touch to return to the standby screen.
Setup item Description (default bolded)
Use/Not use Not use: Disables the operator management
function.
Use: Enables the operator management
function.
Print/Not print
operator ID
Print: Prints operator IDs on measurement
result reports (with chromatograms)
and calibration results (print example:
see “2.9.2. Chromatogram Report” on
page 2-45 and “2.9.7. Calibration
Results Report” on page 2-51).
Not print: Does not print operator IDs.
NOTE:
Do not turn off the power while settings are being saved. New settings may not be saved.

If this is the first time to use the operator management function:
Go to “3.11.2. Registering/Changing Operator IDs and Passwords” on page 3-45 to register at least one
operator ID. If there are no registered operator IDs, the operator management function does not work even if
<Use> was selected for <Use/Not use> in step
b.
If “Select the operator ID.” appears:
Select your operator ID, following the instructions in “3.11.4. Selecting the Operator ID” on page 3-48.
