5.5.2 Replacing the Column Tubes
If the warning “W-094 Column is leaking at the bottom.” appears on the screen, tighten the push screws on the IN and
OUT sides of the column. If the warning persists, replace the column tubes and push screws with new ones.
Prepare: Spare tubes (For column IN: 9.5 cm, For column OUT: 8.0 cm), push screws, tissue paper, cotton swabs
and
protective gloves
Preparing for tube replacement
1 Access the maintenance screen.
a On the standby screen, select [MENU], <2. Reagent replacement menu> and <5. Column replacement> in that
order.
b On the [Column replacement] screen, enter the reagent
information code for the column that is currently being used.
c Touch .
Wear protective gloves to prevent exposure to pathogenic microbes.
Discard used tubes, push screws, cleaning tools and protective gloves in accordance with
local regulations for biohazardous waste.
Be sure to operate the buttons on the screen by following the instructions described below
when replacing the column tubes. Disobeying the instructions may cause fluid to splatter
during replacement work. Be careful not to allow bubbles to enter the joints.
NOTE:
In the later steps, instructions for replacing the column will
appear on the screen. To replace the tubes, follow the
procedure below, instead of the instructions on the screen.
