4.3 Washing and Cleaning

4.3.5 Cleaning the Sample Tube Spinning Unit
Clean the sample tube spinning unit once a month. The sample tube spinning unit cannot spin sample tubes properly
if the rollers are contaminated.
Prepare: Gauze, purified water
and protective gloves
1 Move the sample tube spinning unit to the front.
a On the standby screen, touch , <7. Maintenance menu> and <4. Sample tube spin unit> in that order.
b Touch .
• The sample tube spinning unit will move to the front.
c Wait for the screen shown on the right to appear.
 Wear protective gloves to prevent exposure to pathogenic microbes.
 Discard used gauze and protective gloves in accordance with local regulations for
biohazardous waste.
The sample tube spin unit shuts down automatically if the front cover is opened. Follow the
instructions described below to avoid injury and damage to the instrument.
