2 Detach the column from the column holder.
a Open the front cover, and then temperature control box cover.
b Detach the column from the column holder.
• Place your hand behind the column at the top and push the
column to the front.
3 Blot up liquid in the leak tray.
a Stuff some tissue paper below the injection valve and leak tray.
• The tissue paper blots up any leaking liquid that overflows while
replacing the tube.
b Blot up all liquid in the leak tray below the column with cotton
swabs.
• Go to either of the following sections.
“ Replacing the column IN tube (lower tube)” on page 5-29.
“ Replacing the column OUT tube (upper tube)” on page 5-31.
The column and column holder may be hot. Before touching the column, place your hand near
to the column to make sure that it is not hot. If the column is hot, the temperature controlling
unit may be broken. Contact your distributor.
