3.1.5.3 Installation Note
IDA8C (Switch Mode) system requires and processes four 0 dB audio inputs into only a 4-channel
amplifier (Evacuation, Voice, Music or Backup), each input is also fitted with volume controls and
equalizers.The four channels can be switched ON/OFF in each zone separately.
In case of evacuation, the three channels can be used as a second alarm channel. There are three
types of mode (Equal Mode, Unequal Mode, Backup Sharing Mode) which provide users with a multi-
functional combination for preference.
3.1.5.3.1 Equal Mode
Equal Mode
The master unit IDA8C-SW is connected to IDA8SAB-SW slave units by Ateis Local-Net with
full power back-up.
Each channel can handle up 1,000W wattage capacity and be supplied for the zones of
controller and slave units. Each amp channel has the same wattage capacity, and the system
will automatically use the amp channel which is currently available. The 4 sources with the
highest priority can use the 4 amp channels.
3.1.5.3.2 Unequal Mode
Unequal Mode
The master unit IDA8C (Switch Mode) is connected to IDA8SAB (Switch Mode) slave units by
Ateis Local-Net with full power back-up.
The system divides four channels into two groups and each two channels in a group (evac +
backup and voice + music). The sources in priority 1 ~ 20 shall be used by the evac and backup
channels; and sources in priority 21 ~ 99 shall be used by the voice and music channels. When
the two amplifiers for voice and music channel are being occupied, the available amp for evac
and backup channels will also be used for the sources with priority 21 ~ 99.
In case you might face the possibility when the two amplifiers for Voice and Music sources are
been occupied, rest of the amplifiers for EVAC and Backup channels shall also be used as
Voice and Music sources simultaneously with one condition that there are other vacant
amplifiers for EVAC and Backup.
