About this chapter
Read this chapter before installing your D P xK BLP-series projector. It c ontains important information concerning installation re-
quirements for the DP xK BLP-series projector, such as m inimum and maxim um allowed ambient temperature, hum idity co nditions,
required safety area around the installed projector, required power net, etc.
Furthermore, careful consideration of things such as image size, a mbient light level, projector placement and type of screen to us e
are critical to t he optimum use of the projection system.

Barco provides a guarantee relating to perfect manufacturing as part of the legally stipulated terms of guar-
antee. Obse rving the s pecication m entioned in this chapter is critical for projector performance. Neglecting
this can result in loss o f warran ty.
After unp acking let the projector acclimatizes to a room temperature higher then 10°C (50°F) an d lower then
35°C (95°F). It is suggests only using it after having stored it for 16 hours in nal location. Neglecting this m ay
result in a start up failure of the Light Processor Unit.

Environmental conditions
The table below summarizes the phy sical environment in which the DPxK BLP se ries projector m ay be safely operated or stored.
Environment Operating Non-Operating
Ambient Tempe rature 10°C (50°F) to 3 5°C (95°F) -15°C (5 °F) to 60°C (140°F)
Air cleanliness Clean ofce environment (equivalent with cleanroom

Humidity
5% to 85% RH Non-condensed 5% to 95% RH Non-Condensed
Altitude
-60 (-197Ft) to 3000m (9843Ft) -60 (-197Ft) to 10000m (32810Ft)
Let the projector ac climatize after unpacking. Neglecting this may result in a startup failure of the Light Pro-
cessor Un it.
Use in high altitude conditions
When 3 000 m environmental condition is combined with the highest permissible temperature (35°C a m bient), the projec tor m ay be
expected to go into w arning status. Hence, for high altitude conditions, we advise max 30 °C am bient condition (25°C is preferred).
Furthermore, to avoid temperature warnings on laser banks, we advise in high altitude to s et c ooler fans to 100%.
