13. PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE ACTIONS
Maintenance program
The maintenance program is subdivided in time frames. The ma intenance actions des cribed in this chapter can be done by a trained
projectionist. Note that there are also annually and 4 yearly maintenance actions (not included in this m anual) w hich must be done
by c ertified service p ersonnel who are familiar with potential hazards of the product and all product safety checks. Contact your
service partner for more information about m aintenance services.
Overview
• 1 m onth maintenance actions
• 3 m onth maintenance actions
13.1 1 month maintenance actions
MAINTENANCE TYPE A (perform every month)
The 1 month maintenance actions, listed below, m ay be performed by a trained projectionist w ho is familiar
with potential hazards associated with the product.
No. Maintenance action Remarks
1
Check both dust filters of the projector for dust and g rease.
Grease on the filter can build up after several months in an environment
contaminated with g reasy air. Note that areas where popcorn is consumed are
subject to greasy air.
•Ifthefilters are contaminated with dust than cleaning the filters with a
vacuum cleaner should be sufficient.
• Incasethefilters feel greasy than the fi lters must be washed .
Take into account that the time needed to dry the dust filters may b e 24 hours or
more. For that, it’s recommen ded to have a second set of dust filters which can
be used while cleaning the first set.
Replace damaged filters immediately.
See procedures "Rem ove and clean the
front dust filter", page 139,"Remove and
clean both bottom dust filters", page
140.
To speed-up drying, allow the filter(s)
to dry at 50°C max in a well ventilated
room.
2
Check the surface of the lens output side for dust. (it is not needed to remove
the lens from the pr ojector). Only clean if necessary.
Clean the lens output side in case dust
is clearly vis ible upon the surface.
Note: if the lens was removed from
the projector, a manual “Lens H ome
& Return” ac tion must be executed
to calibrate the position of the lens in
relation to the Lens Holder. This way
the references of the existing ’lens files’
remain valid. See user guide of the
Communicator software.
3
Check the porthole (both sides) for dust. Clean the porthole in case dust is clearly
visible upon the surface. Use an optical
cloth.
13.2 3 month maintenance actions
MAINTENANCE TYPE B (perform every three months)
The 3 month maintenance actions, listed below, m ay be performed by a trained projectionist w ho is familiar
with potential hazards associated with the product.
