The CDM-840 Remote Router (Figure 1-1) is a point-to-multipoint router. It serves as the “spoke”
or remote site equipment component of Comtech EF Data’s Advanced VSAT Series group of
products (Figure 1-2).

Comtech’s Advanced VSAT Series products are designed to support latency-sensitive applications
such as cellular backhaul over satellite, Universal Service Obligation (USO) networks, corporate
networks, Internet Service Providers, and other similar hub-and-spoke network environments
that require high-performance, high-quality IP transport with “always-on” availability.
