6.3.3.6 MONITOR: AUPC
Appendix E. AUPC (AUTOMATIC UPLINK POWER CONTROL)
When you select AUPC and the modem is not in ‘Framed’ or VersaFEC ACM (IP-ACM) mode,
the modem displays the following message:
Warning! AUPC needs
Frame Mode or IP-ACM
When you select AUPC and the modem is in Framed mode, the screen appears as follows:
AUPC:Remote EbNo =Unlock
TX Power Increase =0.00dB
The top line displays the value of E
b
/N
0
of the demodulator at the distant end of the
satellite link. The E
b
/N
0
displays Unlock if the remote demod is unlocked.
The bottom line shows how much the AUPC system has increased the output power. If
you do not enable AUPC, the value of Tx Power Increase shows as 0.0 dB.
For VersaFEC ACM (IP-ACM) modes only:
AUPC:Modem is in IP-ACM
TX Power Increase =0.0dB
For VersaFEC-2 ACM (V2-ACM) modes only:
AUPC:Modem is in V2-ACM
TX Power Increase =0.0dB
The top line message directs you to consult the Monitor: ACM menu for the Remote
and Local SNR values that are available in place of Remote E
b
/N
0
data.
The bottom line shows how much the AUPC system has increased the output power. If
you do not enable AUPC, the value of Tx Power Increase shows as 0.0 dB.
Press ENTER or CLEAR to return to the previous menu.
