Chapter 8. SERIAL-BASED REMOTE PRODUCT MANAGEMENT
The operands available through CDM-570A Serial-based Remote Product Management are
identified in the following table – details on using these ODU-specific remote commands and
queries are explicitly defined in Chapter 8.

Description
AUP
Command or Query – Use to configure EDMAC AUPC power level mode.
EFM
Command or Query – Use to configure EDMAC Framing Mode (Off, Master, Slave).
ESA
Command or Query – (For EDMAC Master only) When used as a query, it retrieves EDMAC slave
address.
When used as a command, it sets the EDMAC Slave Address range.
FLT
Query only – The unit returns the current highest-priority fault and status codes for the unit (hardware),
Tx Traffic, Rx Traffic and ODU.
FRM
Command or Query – Configure the unit’s framing mode (Unframed, EDMAC, EDMAC-2).
ODU
Command or Query – Enable or disable communications, via the FSK link, with a Comtech EF Data
transceiver.
REB
Query only – Returns the value of Eb/No of the remote demod
RNE
Query only – Unit returns the oldest 5 Stored Events which have not yet been read over the remote
control.
