Revision 5
Adaptive Coding and Modulation (ACM) Option P–13 MN-CDM570A
P.7.2 Configuring VersaFEC-2 ACM
Chapter 6. FRONT PANEL OPERATION
VersaFEC-2 ACM requires the plug-in Option Card , and the appropriate FAST
code for the maximum operating symbol rate.
Do these steps to configure the CDM-570A/570AL for VersaFEC-2 ACM operation from the
CDM-570A/570AL front panel:
Use the ◄ ► arrow keys to select a parameter. Press
ENTER to set the mode as V2-ACM..
RS232 G703 IP-ACM V2-ACM
(SELECT) CONFIG: TX FEC
Use the ◄ ► arrow keys to select a parameter. Set the
Tx FEC type as:
• VF2L (VersaFEC-2 Long Block), or
• VF2S (VersaFEC-2 Short Block)
TPC VF ULL VF2L VF2S Unc
(SELECT) CONFIG: TX SYMB
Use the ◄ ► and ▲▼arrow keys to enter the desired
transmit symbol rate. Note that this is a fundamental
departure from the way in which the modem is typically
00031.139kbps(◄ ►,▲ ▼,ENT)
The Transmit symbol rate is limited by the ACM FAST code installed. There are five
options:
• 37 ksps to 375 ksps
• 37 ksps to 750 ksps
• 37 ksps to 1500 ksps
• 37 ksps to 2000 ksps
(SELECT) CONFIG: TX POWER
se the ◄ ► arrow keys to select a parameter. Set the
Power as:
• Manual
• AUPC
• CnC-APC
If Manual mode is selected, enter the desired transmit
output level. This will also be the Nominal Power value if
Manual AUPC CnC-APC
If AUPC mode is selected without first selecting IP, IP-
ACM, or V2-ACM mode, this message appears:
Warning! AUPC needs
