Table K-5 displays the solution for Example 1.
Step 1 The total available bandwidth for the Priority 1 queue is 30000 kbps, but the Ingress DR
is only 4000 kbps. Hence the Priory 1 queue takes only 4000 kbps and the remaining bandwidth
is left for lower-priority queues.
Step 2 The leftover 26000 kbps is available for the Priority 2 queue. Remember that the
Priority 2 queue only requires 2000 kbps. The Priority 2 queues therefore take only 2000 kbps,
and the remaining bandwidth is left for lower-priority queues.
