7.4.4.3.3 Configuration | ARP (Address Resolution Protocol)
This page is accessible only to Admin users when the optional High-Speed Packet
Processor card is installed and enabled. See Sect. 7.4.3.1 for information about
using conditional access pages.
Use this page to configure the modem’s P0 | MGMT port ARP (Address Resolution Protocol)
parameters.
ARP is a way of associating a MAC address with an IP address for all devices that are active on a
broadcast domain. The modem can associate these addresses dynamically (by listening to ARP
responses) or statically (by hard-coding the IP/MAC Address association).

ARP Table (Edit)
The ARP Table contains all known associationsit displays all current Static and Dynamic ARP
entries, and allows you to directly edit the current Static ARP entries when more than one ARP
entry exists. Note the following:
Column
Description
Index
This is the read-only internal table index number. It is automatically assigned.
IP
IP Address, in the format XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX.
MAC
MAC Address, in the format YY:YY:YY:YY:YY:YY.
Type
This read-only column displays the entry type as Static or Dynamic.
