Configure Remote Management SNMP parameters
Digi TransPort WR Routers User Guide 669
SNMP parameters
The Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) is a well-established way of managing clusters
of remote routers. TransPort routers support SNMP versions 1, 2c, and 3.
Supported Management Information Bases (MIBs)
The standard Management Information Bases (MIBs) supported by the router are:
▪ SNMP MIB (RFC3418)
▪ Interfaces MIB (RFC2233)*
▪ IP MIB (RFC2011)
▪ IP Forwarding Table MIB (RFC2096)
▪ TCP MIB (RFC2012)
▪ UDP MIB (RFC2013)
▪ VRRP MIB (RFC2787)
▪ SNMP MPD MIB (RFC3412)
▪ SNMP USM MIB (RFC3414)**
* The following groups/tables in RFC2233 are not supported: ifXTable, ifStackTable,
ifRcvAddressTable.
** The following groups/tables in RFC3414 are not supported: usmUserTable.
Other MIBs may be available on request.
Besides the above MIBs, there are two other MIBs that are supplied as standard:
▪ There is a MIB that is generated after the firmware has been installed. This is accomplished using
the mibprint CLI command and the MIBEXE DOS tool, available from Digi Technical Support.
This MIB changes with every firmware release, since the firmware revision is embedded in the
Object Identifiers (OIDs). This MIB provides access to most of the configuration and statistics
that are associated with the router.
▪ The second MIB is the Monitor MIB, a standard MIB that gives access to various Digi TransPort
proprietary objects. The OIDs in this MIB do not change with every release, although it is possible
for new objects to be added to it. This MIB is available from Digi Technical Support.
