Preparation before driving
The smart key generates weak radio wave,
which may be influenced under the following
conditions:
● There is a strong electromagnetic wave
generator near the operating site, such as TV
tower, power station or radio station.
● A radio equipment, such as mobile phone,
interphone and radio is in operation.
● The smart key comes into contact with or is
covered by any metallic material.
In case the passive keyless entry feature fails,
the above conditions should be eliminated firstly.
Afterwards, if the system still fails, use the
mechanical key to lock/unlock the door and
contact the authorized dealer for troubleshooting
as soon as possible.
● When the smart key is within the
operating range, anyone (including
persons not carrying the smart key) can
press the request switch to lock/unlock
the doors or open the trunk lid.
● The radio waves generated by the smart
key may cause negative influence on
electronic medical equipment. For
example, for a patient wearing cardiac
pacemaker, before using or approaching
the smart key, he or she should contact
the hospital or the electronic medical
equipment manufacturer for advice.
● Do not change the transmitting frequency,
increase the transmitting power, connect
the external antenna or use other
transmitting antenna without
authorization.
● If it is found that the smart key interferes
with legitimate radio communication
services, stop using the key immediately
and contact the authorized dealer.
● Do not use the smart key on an airplane
or on the site officially forbidding radio
equipment.
Passive keyless entry failure
The request switch fails to work under the
following conditions:
● When the vehicle power supply is not in the
“OFF” position;
● The smart key is left inside the vehicle.
● The smart key is outside the operating range.
● Any door is open or closed improperly.
● The smart key battery has run out.
Door locking protection
With all doors (including the trunk lid) closed,
when the doors are being locked with the PKE
function, if the smart key is inside the vehicle
(including the trunk lid), the doors will not be
locked, which can prevent the smart key from
being accidentally locked inside.
Do not put the smart key at the following
positions in the vehicle lest it might be locked
in the vehicle:
● on the instrument panel or in the glove
box.
● on the rear shelf.
● in the storage boxes on the doors or in
the cup holder.
● at the corner of the trunk or under the
driver’s tools.
● inside or near any metallic material.
