Book Nine:
Adding Flair to the Design
Adding an outline or a shadow is a fairly common, but visually exciting technique. In addition
to these, OMEGA offers tools that allow you to distort or warp objects, fit text on a path, and
create special effects by combining shapes and library designs. This book shows you how to
achieve these effects in the following chapters:
Chapter 40: Outlining Objects, shows you how to add single or multiple outlines to text and
shapes.
Chapter 41: Adding Shadows, tells you how to give three-dimensional appearances to shapes
using shade, drop, or cast shadows.
Chapter 42: Distorting and Warping Objects, provides distortion templates and free-style
warping to radically change the appearance of shapes and text.
Chapter 43: Fitting Text to a Path, allows you to create a path − even a distorted one − and then
put text on that path. You can hide the path so that the text seems to have a life of its own.
Chapter 44: Creating Special Effects, shows you how to add stripes, silhouettes, and layers to
shapes. There is also a library of special effects for you to use in your design.
