- To work on the water pump shaft and the relevant
oil seal, open the engine crankcase and work from
inside the transmission-side crankcase half.
- Slide off the idle gear.
- Slide off the water pump control gear together
with the shaft.
- Undo the two screws indicated and remove the
gear protection plate.
- Insert a punch on the water pump shaft seat and
remove the oil seal.
