Hardkey and Softkey Reference
Utility
HP-IB Address
Press this softkey to change the signal generator’s HP-IB address. The HP-IB
address is set to 19 at the factory. You can change the address to any number
between 0 and 30. To enter a new value, press
Utility, HP-IB/RS-232, HP-IB Address
and rotate the front panel knob, use the up and down arrow keys, or enter the value
using the numeric keypad and press the
Enter terminator softkey.
The HP-IB address setting is a persistent state; it is not affected by an instrument
preset or by a power cycle.

Pressing this softkey reveals a menu of choices for HP-IB and RS-232
configuration. In this menu, you have the following options:
• Change the HP-IB address of the signal generator.
• Change the remote language of the signal generator.
• Set the baud rate for the RS-232 serial port (AUXILIARY INTERFACE connector).
• Reset the RS-232 serial I/O.
• Turn the RS-232 echo on or off.
• Set the RS-232 handshake protocol.
• Control RS-232 RTS and CTS behavior.

Instrument Adjustments
Pressing this softkey reveals a menu of front panel adjustments for the signal
generator. The softkeys in this menu provide the following capabilities:
•Adjust the ratio between the front panel knob and the step size for the arrow
keys
•Adjust the internal reference oscillator (for use by service personnel only)
