4 HAPSITE will check pressures and automatically heat all necessary
components to the setpoint temperatures. Progress will be indicated by a bar
graph. Once all components have reached their setpoint temperatures, a
prompt will be displayed to Press RUN to start method.
5 Click the RUN button on the pop-up window or from the Control Panel on the
screen. (See Figure 6-5.)

6 Sample the background for one minute and note the TIC
(the total ion count, which is a measure of response.) (See Figure 6-6.)
