ADF magnification adjustment
1. Enter the Diagnostic menu: press and hold 3 and 6, turn on the printer, and release the buttons when the
splash screen appears.
2. To print a test page from the Diagnostic menu, navigate to:
REGISTRATION > Quick Test
3. To copy the test page from the Diagnostic menu, navigate to:
SCANNER CALIBRATION > Copy Quick Test.
4. Navigate to:
SCANNER TESTS > ADF Magnification.
5. Compare the copy to the original test page, and then adjust the value of the ADF Magnification setting as
needed. If the bottom margin is too small, decrease the value. If the bottom margin is too large, increase
the value.
6. Touch Submit to save your changes.
7. To check the changes, reload the original test page, and then repeat the Copy Quick Test. Repeat the
steps as needed.
8. Once the margins look correct, check the registration of the ADF. See “Adjusting scanner registration”
on page 3-60.
9. Perform the Copy Quick Test, and then repeat the process if needed.
ADF hinge adjustment
If the ADF is not parallel to the flatbed, ADF copies could be skewed on the leading edge and not parallel. Adjust
the left ADF hinge to make the gap between the ADF and the flatbed 2.0 mm.
1. Remove the ADF rear cover:
a. Open the ADF top door, and remove the two screws (A) from the top of the ADF rear cover.
b. Remove one screw (B) from the back, and lift the cover to remove it.
