Step Check Yes No
1 Properly load document into the ADF unit assembly and
ensure all guides are set correctly.
Re-print the defective image.
Does the error continue?
Go to step 2. Problem solved.

Check for obstructions in the area of the media feed
path in the ADF.
Is the media feed path free from any obstructions?
Go to step 3. Remove
obstructions.

Is the ADF left cover assembly properly and evenly
closed?
Go to step 4. Open then
properly close
the ADF left
cover assembly.

Check the ADF/pick roll assembly for damage and
wear.
Is the ADF feed/pick roll assembly free from
damage and wear?
Go to step 5. Replace the ADF
feed/pick roll
assembly.

Check the ADF separator roll.
Is the separator roll free from damage and wear?
Go to step 6. Replace the
separator roll.

Replace the ADF controller card assembly.

Perform a print test using the ADF.
Does the error continue?
Replace the
system card
