5.AirSuspension(ifequipped):Checkforairleaks,loose
components,anddamagetoairbag.Inspectstabilizer
barforworn,loose,ordamagedcomponents.
6.BrakeChamberandHoses:Checktoseethatthe
brakechambersarenotcrackedordamaged,andare
securelymounted.Checkforbroken,looseormissing
parts.Checkforcracked,wornorfrayedhoses,andfor
securecouplings.
7.SlackAdjuster:Checkslackadjusterandchamberpush
rodtravel.Whenpulledbyhand,pushrodshouldnot
movemorethanapproximately1inch.Anglebetween
pushrodandadjusterarmshouldbeapproximately90
degreeswhenbrakesareapplied.
8.BrakeLiningandDrum:Withbrakesreleased,check
toseethatbrakelinings(wherevisible)arenot
wornexcessivelythin(lessthan1/4inch[6mm])or
contaminatedbylubricant.
9.Tire:Checktreaddepth,tireinationandnoteiftread
isevenlyworn.Minimumtreaddepthis4/32inchon
steeringtires.Lookforcutsorotherdamagetothetread
orsidewalls.Checkformissing,brokenordamaged
valvecapandstem.
10.WheelandLugNuts:Checkfordamagedorbentwheel.
Checktoseethatalllugnutsarepresentandnotloose
(lookforrusttrailsaroundnuts).Ensurethatnocracks
ordamagearepresentatwheelmountholes.
11.Hub:Checkforobviousleaksonoutsideorinsideof
wheel.Verifycorrectoillevelinhub.
12.SteeringLinkage:Inspectconnectinglinks,arms,rods,
andsteeringintermediateshaftforworn,damaged,
loose,ormissingcomponents.
