DJ-2000
A. Description
1. The DJ-2000 Dispense Jet is a high throughput air-actuated dispensing jet.
These devices are referred to as “jets”, because they use an air-activated
needle to force a jet of fluid from the fluid chamber.
2. The DJ-2000 employs a non-contact dispensing method in which individual
drops of material are formed and shot from the nozzle to the substrate.
B. Operation
1. The DJ-2000 dispenses fluid using an air actuated pin mechanism.
2. The dispenser supplies air to the solenoid (air valve). The solenoid opens,
and air flows into the pin chamber.
3. Air pushing on the piston raises the needle, retracts the ball from the
extension seat and compresses the spring. Adhesive fills the void left by
the ball.
4. When air vents from the solenoid valve, the spring returns the ball to the
extension seat. As the solenoid closes, the air vents out, and the spring-
loaded needle is forced downward, forcing fluid through the nozzle.
5. The ball breaks the string of adhesive flowing through the nozzle. Within
milliseconds, the solenoid coil is de-energized releasing the needle rod.
6. The spring drives the needle back to its original position.
C. Adjustments
1. There are two primary setup adjustments to the DJ-2000 that control fluid
flow as well as dot quality and consistency.
