Theory of Operation (Continued)
C. Conveyor
1. The Conveyor is used to move workpieces into and out of the dispensing
area.
2. Depending upon application requirements and system configuration, the
conveyor setup may vary. There are two models, one for Advanced Semi-
Conductor Package Assembly (ASPA) and one for Surface Mount Technology
(SMT). Typically, the X-1010 uses an o-ring conveyor and the X-1020 uses a
belt conveyor.
3. Conveyor features include:
Pre-dispense, dispense, and post-dispense stations.
Motorized rail width adjustment
Lift tables
PC Board clamp
Underboard support
Impingement, Contact Tooling
Asymtek Loader/Unloader
4. Conveyor I/O is managed by a 555 Conveyor Controller Module. Processes
include:
Operation of stop pins, clamps, tooling vacuum and lift tables.
Temperature of both thermocouple and RTD type underboard heaters.
Stepper motors that activate to turn the conveyor belt drive wheel and
adjust conveyor width.
Station timers.
SMEMA communication.
D. FmNT
1. Fluidmove for Windows NT (FmNT) is an Asymtek proprietary dispensing
software that coordinates the motion of the dispense head and conveyor.
2. Before the dispensing process can begin, FmNT must be programmed to
perform the necessary steps.
