Safety Interlock and Light Beacon
A. Light Beacon
1. Located at the top right corner of the system, the Light Beacon is device that
displays system status.
2. The Beacon has four different color lights, which can be constantly ON or
flashing, and can give an audible alarm. The actions of the lights and alarm
can be configured through software to suit a particular application.
3. System status is indicated by of the light beacon. In general, the colors
indicate the following:
■ Red = Alert
■ Yellow = Caution
■ Green = Operation
■ Blue = User Defined
4. Refer to Table 1-5-1 for a detailed explanation of each color indication.
B. Safety Interlock
1. The Safety Interlock System is a built-in safety feature that automatically
reduces dispensing system power when the Hatch is opened. This system
mainly prevents personnel from being injured by movement of the
Dispensing Head and Conveyor.
2. This system consists of the following:
A key attached to the dispensing system Hatch that fits into a switch that
is attached to the right side doorframe.
A Light Beacon that displays a yellow caution light.
The system computer and FmNT software.
3. If the Hatch is opened while a dispensing program is running, the key is
extracted from the switch. The break in the Interlock circuit causes the
following actions:
The FmNT software commands all dispensing motion to stop.
The Dispense Valve shuts off.
The system goes into a low power level.
 The Light Beacon displays a solid yellow light.
