Removing and Replacing the Image Capture or Video Card
Tools and Materials Needed:
ESD Grounding Strap Phillips Head Screwdriver
Torque Wrench PMAC Card (P/N 07-0735-01)
Image Capture Card (P/N 59-0018) Video Card (P/N 194702)
ESD precautions must be taken while handling the cards or severe damage from
electrostatic discharge may occur.
Apply removable thread locker to all threaded fasteners unless otherwise noted. All
components and fasteners removed during this procedure should be retained in an
orderly manner and in a safe location for reinstallation or shipment back to
Asymtek.
Removing the Image Capture or Video Card
1. Perform a Service Shutdown as detailed on page 1-11 of this manual.
2. Remove the Computer from inside the Lower Front Cabinet by performing the steps
specified in Exercise Sheet 5-6-1 on page 5-34.
3. Lay the Computer down on its right side. Unscrew the two captive, slotted thumbscrews
on the left side of the Computer and open the Computer Door (See Diagram Sheet 5-6-1
on page 5-35).
4. Unscrew the slotted thumbscrew on top of the Hold Down Bar and remove the bar.
5. Locate the card(s) that must be replaced.
The Image Capture Card is located in Slot Number 6. The Video Card is located in
Slot Number 7 (See Diagram Sheet 5-6-2 on page 5-34).
6. Remove the small Phillips head screw from the Card Hold-down Clip.
7. Gently pull up on the card and remove it from the slot.
Installing the Image Capture or Video Card
1. Remove the new card from its ESD protective bag.
2. Align the new card to the connections in the appropriate slot.
3. Gently press down on the card until it is completely seated in the slot.
The shoulder on bottom surface of card will be flush with the top edge of the slot.
4. Install the small Phillips head screw attaching the Card Hold-down Clip to the Computer
Case (See Diagram Sheet 5-6-2 on page 5-34). Torque to 20 in-lbs (0.230 kg-m).
5. Place the Hold Down Bar across the top of the cards and tighten the slotted
thumbscrew.
Do not use removable thread locker.
6. Close the Computer Door and tighten the two captive, slotted thumbscrews.
Do not use removable thread locker.
7. Reinstall the Computer inside the Lower Front Cabinet by performing the steps specified
in Exercise Sheet 5-6-1 on page 5-34.
8. Perform a Post-Service Start-u
