Level 2 Maintenance, X-1000 Series Dispensing Systems 1-2 P/N 196515 (Revision A)
Information Sheet 1-1-1
System Features
A. System Description
1. X-1000 Series dispensing systems are designed primarily for Surface Mount
Application (SMA), Solder Paste (SP), Advanced Semiconductor Package
Assembly (ASPA), and Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA) applications.
2. It provides a modular approach to hardware, software and factory integration.
Because of the modular design, it can be easily configured for other applications.
B. System Feature Summary
1. Hatch
- The Hatch allows access to the dispensing area.
2. Safety Interlock
- When the hood is open, the Safety Interlock immediately
stops all dispensing activity to protect the operator from serious injury.
3. Emergency Machine Off (EMO)
– Allows you to quickly power down the
machine in an emergency. A second EMO is located on the back of the system.
4. Dispensing Calibration Module (DCM)
- The DCM consists of the Weigh
Station, Purge Station, fiber-optic and tactile Needle Sensors and the Ceramic
Tile substrate.
Purge Station
- Prepares the needle for dispensing by cleaning the outer
diameter of the needle and automatically purging the valve at defined
intervals.
Weigh Station
- Contains a scale that measures the weight of dispensed
fluid and sends the information to the FmNT software for mass flow
calibration.
Fiber-Optic Needle Sensor
- The needle sensor locates the XYZ position of
the needle and is used with FmNT to determine necessary system offsets
required for accurate dispensing.
Tactile Needle Sensor
- The tactile sensor calculates the offset between
the needle and the height sensor probe.
Ceramic Tile
- Dispensing substrate used to calculate camera-to-needle
offset.
5. Vision System
- The Vision System consists of a pattern recognition card
located inside the system computer, a machine vision camera, and Diffuse
On-Axis lighting.
6. Conveyor
- The conveyor transports parts through the dispensing system.
Heater tooling is an available option on systems performing applications that
require heat. The conveyor type and size are application dependent.
7. Dispensing Head
– The Dispensing Head consists of the fluid pump, vision
system, height sensor, and the optional needle heater and low fluid sensor.
It moves in the XYZ (left, right, front, back, up, down) planes during the
dispensing process.
8. Light Beacon
– the Light Beacon is a device that visually and audibly warns
operators of system status by displaying different colored lights and sounding
an alarm.
