Computer
A. Computer
1. The Computer is located on the right hand side of the lower front cabinet. It
houses the following electronic components:
Main Interface PWA
ITI Vision Card
ATI Graphics Card
PIO96-J Card
PMAC Card
2. The Computer is mounted on a bracket that is bolted to the floor of the lower
front cabinet. To gain access to the Computer’s internal cards, there is a door
on the left side that is secured in place by two quick-release fasteners
allowing access without tools.
3. The Computer power is not connected to the EMO circuitry, allowing it to
remain powered up during an emergency shutdown.
B. Main Interface PWA
1. The Main Interface PWA is installed on the inside of the Computer door
giving full access to the board.
2. The board includes interface logic PLD for position compare, power-up status
and beacon operations. It is also used to route all signals except CAN
communication, camera signal, and monitor signal.
3. Most peripherals are connected directly to the board, which routes
communication between PMAC and FmNT.
C. ITI Vision Card
1. The ITI Vision Card receives the image from the Camera and performs
fiducial image capture.
2. A fiducial is a distinct shape or object on the workpiece. The vision system
uses these objects for location reference.
