Level 2 Maintenance, X-1000 Series Dispensing Systems 2-26 P/N 196515 (Revision A)
Information Sheet 2-4-1
Pneumatic Distribution
A. Main Air Regulator and Gauge
1. Air enters the dispensing system from the facility air source at the Main Air
Regulator and Gauge located on the dispensing system back panel.
2. From the Main Air Pressure Regulator, it travels to the Main Air Solenoid and
then to the following:
Valve Pressure
Low Air Sensor
Fluid Pressure (one for each Valve)
Tooling Pressure
B. Main Air Solenoid
1. The Main Air Solenoid turns on and off machine air upon startup and
shutdown of FmNT.
2. It is located behind the Low Pressure Sensor.
C. Fluid Pressure Regulator and Gauge
1. The Fluid Pressure Precision Regulator and Gauge is located behind the lower
front cabinet door and precisely controls the air pressure going to the
receiver head of the fluid syringe or reservoir.
2. The level or air pressure supplied to the syringe or reservoir depends upon
the type of fluid and the valve being used in the dispensing process.
3. Fluid pressure lines are routed as follows:
From the regulator, the fluid pressure lines are routed under the conveyor
to the cable conduit in the back of the machine.
From there, they are routed to the Servo Shelf, the Cat Track and finally
to pneumatic valves on the back of dispense head.
They are connected to the quick disconnects located on the dispense
head bulkhead where a receiver head for a syringe can be connected.
4. If the dispensing system is equipped with a Dual-Action Dispensing Head,
there will be a second Fluid Pressure Regulator and Gauge with another
pneumatic line connecting to a second fluid port on the bulkhead.
