Using the wide mode
To cancel the wide mode
In the standby mode, set the wide mode to OFF in tile menu settings.
In the wide mode
You cannot operate tile following functions:
OLD MOVIE _ _ (p. 65)
Recording still images on a" Memory Stick" in tape recording or tape recording
standby _
BOUNCE (p. 61)
Connection for a IV _ _ _
Pictures recorded in the 16:gWIDE mode automatically appear on the TV screen at full
size when:
You connect your camcorder to a TV that is compatible with the video ID (ID-1/ID-2)
system.
You connect your camcorder to the S video jack on tile TV.
ID-1 system
The ID-1 system sends aspect ratio (screen horizontal/vertical ratio) information 06:9,
4:3, or letter box) with video signals.
ID-Z system _ _ _
The ID-2 system sends a copyright protection signal with ID-I signals inserted between
video signals when you connect your camcorder to other equipment by an A/V
connecting cable.
In the wide mode
The SteadyShot does not work. If you set the wide mode described below in the menu
settings when the SteadyShot is working, the _ indicator flashes and tile SteadyShot
does not function:
16:gWIDE to ON _ _ _
16:gWIDE to 16:gFULL _
Date or time indicator _ _
When you record in the 16:9FULL mode, the date or time indicator will be widened on
wide-screen TVs.
