4 Bench testing and basic configuration
4.1 Introduction to bench testing
It is strongly recommended that you assemble a new kit and perform basic
configuration prior to going out on site to perform the install. This will save you and
the customer time.
4.2 Bench test
Bench testing helps to familiarize you with the system components and lets you pre-
configure the control box for the machine type and system you are installing. To
carry out a bench test, you need to:
l check that all components are present
l connect the components together (control box, sensors, cables and harnesses),
connect to a power supply, and turn the system on in manager mode
l enter the machine settings
l check that all components are detected by the control box
4.2.1 Check the components
Use the shipping documents, which show the number of containers and the
component list from each container, to check that all components are present.
For information on the components required for various machine systems, see See
"Machine Configurations" on page 157
If any containers or components are missing or damaged, notify the shipping carrier
or your dealer immediately.
4.2.2 Connect the components and turn the system power on
1. Lay the components out on a bench or table.
2. Connect the cables and components as shown in the system cable diagrams.
3. Connect the power cable to a 12-24VDC power source.
4. Start the system in Manager mode. For information on Manager mode, see See
"Setup Menus" on page 139.
4.2.3 Configure the machine settings
Use the Machine Settings wizard to configure your machine type and sensor
settings. You must configure your machine before you enter any machine
