5 Installing theMain Harness Assembly
5.4.2 Install the front body harness
Connect the front body harness to the boom harness. Run the harness towards the
rear of the machine.
5.4.3 Install the rear body harness
Connect the rear body harness to the front body harness. The elevation sensor
connectors (labeled LEFT GPS and RIGHT GPS) need to be located at the rear of
the machine, so that the elevation sensor cables can be easily routed to them from
the masts, for example in the left rear compartment. The rest of the harness is then
routed and stowed so that the remaining connectors are located in or under the cab
5.4.4 Install the cab and display harness
Connect the cab harness to the rear body harness. Route the cab harness into the
cab by, for example, following the machine harness. Otherwise, cut a 42 mm (1.65
inch) hole for the bulkhead connector on the cab harness.
Connect the display harness to the cab harness.
5.5 Connecting to the run relay
To ensure that the system does not drain the machine battery, connect the ignition-
switched power cable (P/N54486-xx) to an ignition-switched power source such as
the run relay:
1. Locate the run relay, and identify these terminals:
The main feed from the batteries
The switched terminal (turned on and off by the ignition key)
2. Turn off the ignition and remove the battery isolation master key.
3. Route the ignition switched power cable from the connector on the rear body
harness cable (labeled POWER) to the run relay and secure the cable in place.
4. Connect the (green/red) wire of the ignition switched power cable, labeled
PWR A, to the unswitched side of the run relay. Do not connect to the wires
from the ignition switch itself.
5. Connect the (blue/red) wire of the ignition switched power cable, labeled PWR
B, to the ignition switched side of the run relay. Do not connect to the wires
from the ignition switch itself.
6. Connect the black and white wires of the ignition switched power cable,
