6. 10 Break-Out
An outgoing, external call is to be routed into the public ISDN only at the PINX that
is closest to the call destination. If the source PINX and gateway PINX are a long
way apart and connected with each other via dedicated lines, break-out can help
to achieve considerable call charge savings.
For the caller always to be available under the same number regardless of the path
via which his calls are routed to the public network, the called party must always be
presented with a CLIP with that same number.
If the call is transmitted to the public network via a gateway PINX, the CLIP number
will be outside the registered number range. If the network operator is to forward
the CLIP number, the service "Special Arrangement" will have to be utilized subject
to its availability from the network operator (see also page 77).
