INSTALLATION PROCEDURES PM5 : SYSTEM CONFIGURATION

LOCAL V24 ACCESS FOR PM5
It is possible to use PM5 software to dialog with OmniPCX Office using a V24 connection.
In this case the network connection is not necessary.
A specific cable has to be connected between the "Config" RJ45 connector on the system CPU to the
Port Com of the PC using PM5.
Wiring of the connection cable:
Installation procedure
-Open PM5 software on the PC.
- Select the Expert mode.
-Click on Comm menu.
- Select Connect menu.
- select Local menu
- The system proposes to install Alcatel OmniPCX Office direct V24
- click on Yes
- the system open the window Modem properties
- click on Add
- in Installation Window click on Next (put a cross in the box "do not detect the modem automati-
cally")
- select Alcatel in the manufacturers list
- select OmniPCX direct V24 for Windows NT or OmniPCX direct V24/W9xMe for Windows 95
or 98 and Millenium.
- select the Port Com used
- click on Next
- click on Finish
- click on Close
- back in PM5, click on Com
- the "local" box in now active and port Com is displayed
- click on Ok and enter the password
- wait for few seconds; the PM5 is now connected to the system.
