OPERATING MODE
-Open PM5 on the remote access PC.
- Select the Expert menu.
-Click on Comm.
- Select Connect.
-Click on Modem direct, then click on OK.
- Select an entries already used in the .
-Or click on Dialing"Dialing" then select the modem to use by "used modem" then dial the customer
remote access number in "dialing number".
- Write the system password pbxk1064 by default.
- Wait some seconds to have the connection established.
SECURITY
In the remote access, the protocol used in the "data link" OSI layer is PPP (Point-to-Point Protocol). The
TCP/IP protocols are used respectively in the "transport" and "network" layers. For each layer, Alcatel
OmniPCX Office carries out an access control.
Authentication
At the start of the connection (PPP), an account name (system masked) and password (pbxk1064) are
required. This account name is automatically generated by PM5, the password is asked by PM5 for a
direct connection (LAN) to Alcatel OmniPCX Office, all other authentication will be rejected.
Firewall
If the authentication is accepted by the system, connection PPP will be established, and all the data
packets received on this interface will be filtered according to following rules:
All the packets are refused except:
- packages bound for Alcatel OmniPCX Office FTP server via two TCP ports preset for the PBX con-
figuration by PM5.
- packages bound for Alcatel OmniPCX Office HTTP server via the HTTP port preset for the Internet
access configuration by WBM(Web Based Management).
- control packets using the ICMP protocol (Internet Control Message Protocol).
