DOWNLOADING THE SOFTWARE
Proceed as follows:
-Open PM5
-Open the Tools folder
-Open the Software Download application
-In the Communication window, select the type of download:
•Local V24
• Modem Direct
• Modem Callback
-LAN
- Enter the password alize
-The Software Download window opens.
How to fill in the Software Download window fields:
-In the Delivery file field, select the directory containing the description file for the new software
release; by default, the file will be in the BOOT directory.
-Check the Download all files box to download all the files or just those where the Action field
contains the value install.
-Check the Data saving box (or not, as required). Warning: this option entails a cold system boot
(in which the client configuration is lost).
-In the Swap field, define the software changeover mode: check Immediate for immediate swit-
ching, or specify the preferred date and time for the changeover. If you select immediate switching,
it will take effect as soon as you quit the download application.
-The Downloadable Item area is read-only; it displays the various version numbers of the appli-
cations that make up Alcatel OmniOffice. The Action column lists the downloaded applications.
- The bottom part of the window tracks the progress of the download; each download or acknowled-
gement action gives rise to a message.
IMPORT/EXPORT
This function is used to import into Alcatel OmniPCX Office data files sent by clients (or files previously
exported from an Alcatel Office system; for example, a file of collective speed dial numbers with the
extension .CRP):
- Edit the file in EXCEL
- Check the syntax (the name must contain no punctuation, spaces, digits in the first 2 characters, or
more than 15 characters)
- Select All
-Copy
- In PM5 (connected beforehand), select "Collective Speed Dial"
- Right-click
- Paste. The system checks the syntax and asks for confirmation before copying the data.
