2. Remove setscrew, 1.
3. Tap the cylinder head, 2, into the cylinder far
enough to remove retaining ring, 3, with a
screwdriver.

4. Pull the complete piston rod assembly out of the
cylinder barrel.
NOTE: All O-rings and seals should be replaced.
5. Capture the piston rod using a bar through the
one of the holes in the rod, and remove rod nut,
1. Slide off the piston, 2, and cylinder head, 3.

Inspection
1. Examine the parts for wear or nicks. Remove any
burrs inside the cylinder.
2. Remove all seals and O-rings, carefully noting
the lip position on the seals.
3. Remove and clean the breather on the cylinder
barrel.
Assembly
1. Lubricate all seals, O-rings, and sliding surfaces
before assembly.
2. Install a new rod seal inside the cylinder head, 3.
Drive a new wiper seal, 4, in place in the face of
the cylinder head. Install an O-ring in the outer
groove on the cylinder head. Slide the cylinder
head assembly over the piston rod.
3. Capture the piston rod using a bar through one
of the holes in the rod. Install piston, 2, and the
locknut, 1. Torque the locknut to 210 N⋅m (155
ft-lb).
4. Install the piston seal, 5.
