5. Rotate the machine in the opposite direction by
using a bar, 1, in the right hand cutter bar tower,

6. Clear all crop from in front of the conditioner rolls.
Make sure no foreign objects are in the
conditioner. Remove the bar.
7. Start the tractor and, with the engine at 1/2
throttle, carefully engage the PTO. After the rolls
clear, stop the unit and reapply roll pressure.
WARNING
Be sure that all cutter bar shields are down, and
cover skirts snapped together before operating
unit. Failure to comply could result in death or
serious injury.
8. If rolls are still plugged, repeat the preceding
steps.
If plugging continues, use this manual as a guide
to check:
a. Tractor speed.
b. Condition of cutter bar knives.
c. Conditioner roll pressure and gap.
d. Conditioner belt tension.
e. Swathgate and windrow shielding adjust-
ments.

ROLL TIMING
Check the rolls for proper timing. The lugs of one roll
must never touch the lugs of the opposing roll.
WARNING
Disengage the PTO, turn off the tractor engine
and remove the key. Wait for all movement to
stop before leaving operator’s position. Never
adjust, lubricate, clean or unplug machine with
the engine running. Failure to comply could
result in death or serious injury.
IMPORTANT: The conditioning rolls must not
contact each other during operation or severe
machine vibration and premature wear will occur.
