Secondary PTO Assembly
Unhook the anti-rotating chain (if equipped).
Remove the shield from the rear side of the step-up
gearbox by squeezing the sides together off the
retaining pins. Slide shield over the secondary PTO
shaft. Remove the tapered pin, washer, and lock nut.
Slide the PTO off of the gearbox shaft.
IMPORTANT: The secondary PTO shaft is very
heavy and awkward; use caution not to drop the shaft

To reinstall the PTO, apply a thin coat of grease to the
splines. Slide the PTO on to the splines. Place the
tapered pin, 1, into the non machined end of the yoke
hole. Position the pin in the yoke with the tapered
portion of the pin toward the groove in the shaft. Tap
the pin end until the head is within 1/4 inch of the yoke
and the threaded end is protruding out of the yoke.
Place a washer, 2, and nut, 3, on the pin. Torque the
nut to 142 N⋅m (105 ft-lb). Tap the head of the pin with
a hammer and re-torque the nut.
Secure the PTO shielding, and anti-rotation chain.
