CONDITIONER BELT REPLACEMENT
To remove the conditioner roll drive belt, remove the
tension on the belt by loosening the nuts, 1, on the
spring tension rod until the belt can be removed from
the upper sheave.
WARNING
Disengage the PTO, turn off the tractor engine
and remove the key. Wait for all movement to
stop before leaving operator’s position. Never
adjust, lubricate, clean or unplug machine with
the engine running. Failure to comply could
result in death or serious injury.

It will be necessary to remove the cap screw and
locknut at 1, and pry the divider sheet away from the
conditioner roll gearbox. The belt can now be
removed from the sheaves and slid forward between
the divider sheet and the gearbox, as shown in
Figure 7.

Install the new belt by sliding it between the divider
sheet and the conditioner roll gearbox, and position
it onto the sheaves. Tighten the nuts on the spring
tension rod to tension spring to a length of 279 mm
(11 in) between the hooks as shown in Figure 5.
Reinstall the 1/2″ x1-1/4″ cap screw and locknut to
retain the divider sheet.
