Return the engine to idle speed. The shutters will typically
close when the intake manifold air temperature cools to
49°C to 66°C [120°F to 150°F].
If the shutters do not operate correctly, refer to the shut-
ter manufacturer’s service manual.
Fan Inspection (1-18)
Warning: Do not rotate the engine by pulling or prying
on the fan. Do not straighten a bent fan blade or continue
to use a damaged fan. A bent or damaged fan blade can
fail during operation and cause serious personal injury
or property damage.
NOTE: Replace the original equipment fan with a fan of the
identical partnumber. Cummins Engine Company, Inc.must
approve any other fan changes.
