Installation
Install the new idler pulley in the water pump body.
Install the washer and the lock nut on the back of the
pulley shaft.
NOTE: Do not tighten the lock nut until the water pump drive
belt has been installed and adjusted.
Install the adjusting screw in the idler pulley shaft.
Install and adjust the water pump belt. Refer to Procedure
1-25.
NOTE: Belt tension can increase when the lock nut is tight-
ened. Do not adjust belt tension to full value with the ad-
justing screws.
Water Pump (1-27)
Removal
Drain the cooling system. Refer to Procedure 1-07.
Remove the water pump belt. Refer to Procedure 1-25.
Remove the fan hub and the water pump idler pulley
assembly. Refer to Procedures 1-22 and 1-26,
respectively.
