Testing
1. Check the following for defects:
• Electrical wiring broken.
• Sending unit malfunction, or leaking (refer to step
No. 2).
2. Use a master gauge of known accuracy to verify the
reading of the suspect gauge.
3. Replace the sending unit or the gauge if it is defective.
4. Drain the oil from the oil pan. Refer to Procedure 2-06.
Remove the test gauge and replace the pipe plug.
5. Fill the oil pan with clean 15W-40 oil. Refer to Proce-
dure 2-07.
