Check for free movement and adjust if
necessary. Refer to Procedure 5-02.

Fuel Drain Line Restriction

Check for loops and restricted fittings.
Refer to Procedure 5-19.

Fuel Tank Vents Plugged
OK

Remove and clean. Replace as necessary.

Overhead Fuel Tank Check Valve Re-
stricted or Not Opening (Industrial
Applications)
OK

Valve must open at 2 kPa [0.3 psi].
Incorrectly plumbed. Refer to Fuel System
Miscellaneous Information in Section 5.

Fuel Rail Line or Fuel Rail Test Instrumenta-
tion Gauge Line Excessively Long, Large in
Diameter, or Entrained With Air Causing it to
Act as an Accumulator

Visually inspect the fuel rail pressure lines
for misinstallation. Remove rail pressure line
and/or gauge line and bleed air. Check
again. Replace lines as necessary.

Air in the Fuel

Check for air in the fuel. Tighten the fuel line
connections and fuel filter(s). Check tank
pipe stand. Refer to Procedure 5-16. Check
PT fuel pump road speed governor (STC
only). Refer to Procedure 5-05.

PT Fuel Pump Throttle Leakage Excessive

Remove PT pump. Refer to Procedure 5-02.
Calibrate on test stand. Refer to PT Fuel
Pump Rebuild and Calibration Manual,
