Remove all gasket material from the cylinder block and
the oil pan surfaces.
Inspect the inside and the outside of the oil pan for cracks
around the suction tube mounting studs.
Check for a cracked or broken suction tube mounting clip.
Replace if cracked or broken.
Installation
Install the oil pan on the cylinder block. Use your fingers
to install and tighten one of the 7/16 inch oil pan mounting
capscrews on each side of the oil pan, halfway between
the front and the rear of the oil pan. Use your fingers to
install and tighten all the mounting capscrews.
Tighten the four 5/16-inch capscrews in the rear of the oil
pan in the sequence shown.
Torque Value: 27 N•m [20 ft-lb]
Tighten the thirty-two (32) 7/16-inch capscrews in the
sequence shown.
Torque Value: 68 N•m [50 ft-lb]
Install the lubricating oil transfer tube. Refer to Procedure
2-11.
Fill the engine with clean 15W-40 oil. Refer to Procedure
2-07.
Operate the engine until water temperature reaches 82°C
[180°F], and check for oil leaks.
