Inspect the starter for loose connections or broken ter-
minals.
Replace the starter if a terminal is broken.
Tighten loose connections.
For stacked eyelet connections, tighten the nut for the
inner-most connection first.
Alternator Belt (6-04)
Adjustment
Loosen the alternator to alternator support bracket nut
and capscrew.
Loosen the adjusting link capscrew.
Use a pry bar between the engine and alternator to tighten
the alternator belt.
