Optimize SBS Calibration
1. On the Detection tab, use the SBS Detection Sensitivity slider bar to
adjust sensitivity higher by one. (Default is 3.)
2. Click Process Images and Calculate Results.
3. The SBS Rate dialog box appears. Make a note of the percentages.
4. Adjust the slider again, only this time, lowering the sensitivity.
5. Perform this procedure several times, raising and lowering the sensitivity
while making a note of the SBS Rate percentages.
6. Compare the SBS Rate of each adjustment and determine the sensitivity
setting that is best for the application’s conditions (i.e., the highest possible
percentage for the SBS Rate).
7. Once the highest SBS Rate is set, click the Process Images and Set
Parameters button.
8. A Time Warning dialog box is displayed. This takes about three-seconds per
image. Click Yes to allow the system to process images.
9. A progress monitor is displayed. A Best Settings dialog box is displayed
when the process is complete.
10. Click the Save Parameters to Camera button.
11. Setup is complete and the system is ready for normal operations.
12. During normal operations, monitor the number of ‘false negatives’ and ‘false
positives’ that occur. Depending on the application’s requirements and how
SBS conditions are handled, it may be necessary to make adjustments to
reduce the number of false negatives and false positives.
NOTE: In the AV6010 user interface, go to Diagnostics > System Status
to view the SBS results.
Perform this procedure seasonally if package flow and variations of
package types vary.
