Distributed Computing Module (DCM)
The DCM includes the main processor, up to three COM Express (COM-e)
modules (one standard, used for bar code decoding), and all the
Ethernet/serial and parallel communications interfaces required by the
system.
The decoder (COM-e module 1) helps optimize your material handling
system and improve your bottom line by:
utilizing proprietary decoding software that all but eliminate no-reads
regardless of orientation
enabling easy setup, modification, and diagnostics of the most important
application parameters and functionality
provides a choice of serial or Ethernet communications with your host
computer / network.
The optional COM-e modules are typically used for:
Dimensioning / Certified Dimensioning applications
(COM-e module 2)
Raw Image Export (RIE) for Optical Character Recognition (OCR)
applications (COM-e module 3)
The DCM also includes the following software:
Lynx OS
(real-time operating system for the main processor)
Linux Operating System
(on COM-e modules for decoding, dimensioning, RIE/OCR)
AV6010 User Interface (HTML browser-based setup and diagnostics)
AV6010 Install Wizard for auto-calibration (download to a computer)
