Introducing AV6010 with Raw Image Export (RIE)
Any bar code reading application using an AV6010 Camera can also be
configured to provide raw image export (RIE) of high-resolution images at
high speeds. Typically, this is used in optical character recognition (OCR)
applications.
If your system is RIE-enabled, the camera(s) will be equipped with a DCM
that includes the optional Raw Image Export (RIE) COM-e module.
There are only a few special hardware or electrical installation requirements
for an AV6010 RIE application. The initial RIE setup is handled through the
AV6010’s web-browser user interface.
CAUTION: Because of the complexity of the AV6010 Camera System, it is
recommended that only authorized and trained service technicians perform
set-up, parameter adjustments, changes or FRU part replacement. Special
training is required for AV6010 systems equipped with RIE. Training is
available from Accu-Sort. Contact your sales representative or customer
service for additional information. Do not attempt to set-up a system for RIE
without proper training or the assistance of Accu-Sort technical support.
Prerequisites:
To utilize AV6010’s in-camera raw image export (RIE) capabilities, the
following is required:
AV6010 Camera(s) with RIE-capable DCM
(COM-e#3 populated for RIE and 1GB Copper board in PCI slot)
Review application specifications and define requirements with
an Accu-Sort Applications Engineer
The basic requirements for interfacing with AV6010 RIE includes:
RIE Destination Server (Linux-based)
(Hardware configuration is determined with the user by an Accu-Sort
application engineer based upon the application requirements.)
Dual port network card (1GB throughput per RJ45 port)
(Slower applications may only use one port)
C++ (or C) compatibility with the ASI RIE Library / Application
