G Dimensioning

Introducing AV6010 with In-camera Dimensioning

Any bar code reading application using an AV6010 Top Read Camera can

also be used for dimensioning non-touching (singulated) packages. If your

system is dimensioning-enabled, the top-read camera will be equipped with

a DCM that includes the optional dimensioning COM-e module.

There is only a few special hardware or electrical installation requirements

for an AV6010 dimensioning application. All of the dimensioning setup and

monitoring is handled through the web-browser user interface.

Certified dimensioning applications involve special requirements that are

addressed throughout this appendix.

CAUTION: Because of the complexity of the AV6010 Camera System, it is

recommended that only authorized and trained service technicians perform

set-up, parameter adjustments, changes or FRU part replacement. Special

training is required for AV6010 dimensioning systems. Training is available

from Accu-Sort. Contact your sales representative or customer service for

additional information. Do not attempt to set-up a dimensioning system

without proper training or the assistance of Accu-Sort technical support.

Overview

The minimum requirements for using in-camera dimensioning include:

 AV6010 RangeFinder (calibrated for either 0.5, 0.2 or 0.1” accuracy)

 AV6010 Top-Read Camera (with dimensioning-ready DCM)

 Tachometer

If the application is for certified dimensioning, it will also include:

 Laptop computer for remote display and inspection (customer-supplied)

(recommended for all certified dimensioning applications)

 Remote Display (2 line x 20 character)

(required by Measurement Canada, optional for others)

 Certified Label on Top Camera and Mounting Structure

(required for all certified dimensioning applications)

 Top Camera DCM sealed

(required for all certified dimensioning applications)

 Calibration Seal on Tachometer

(required in Europe, optional for all others)
